About CyberWise

Empowering Seniors in a Digital World

CyberWise is a unique, community-driven platform dedicated to helping older adults recognise, resist, and report online scams. Unlike large-scale government or nonprofit sites where scam prevention is only one section, CyberWise is fully devoted to this mission—making us the only independent, user-focused hub of its kind in the U.S.

Our journey began with a deeply personal experience. A close neighbour, Susan, fell victim to a sophisticated online scam that cost her both emotionally and financially. Witnessing her distress opened our eyes to a growing crisis: millions of older adults are navigating a digital world without adequate protection or support. Inspired by Susan’s story, we built CyberWise to fill that gap.

Light and Shadow

Our Mission

We gather verified scam alerts, educational materials, and links to trusted official resources—all in one place, written in clear, accessible language. Our goal is to not only raise awareness but also provide seniors and their families with tools they can act on.

What Makes CyberWise Different?

  • We’re a Central Hub: From tech support scams to grandparent scams, we break down common fraud types and link directly to relevant help.

  • Real People, Real Stories: We believe storytelling changes lives. Our community section invites users to share personal scam experiences to warn and empower others.

  • Practical & Friendly: No legal jargon, no confusion. Just clear advice, checklists, and help tailored for real life.

Looking Ahead

This is only the beginning. We plan to expand CyberWise with more interactive tools, multilingual support, and offline outreach in local communities. Our dream is to make scam prevention as visible and everyday as fire safety—and to build a space where no one, regardless of age, feels alone online.
